Missions Update: Parkers October 2022

October 7, 2022,

Praises!

1. The Mission’s Conference was such a blessing. The speakers were fantastic, the students did a great job organizing it, attendance was good, and eighteen mission agencies were on campus recruiting our students.

2. The ministry at the k-12 school on our campus has been making great progress. The staff is doing a great job with academic and spiritual formation and the ministry has become self-supporting.

3. Our staff retreat was such an encouraging time. We were all both challenged ad refreshed. We praise the Lord for the staff He has blessed us with.

Pray!

1. This weekend Gary is traveling to speak at a men’s conference and minister in a local church. He will preach seven times in three days so pray for strength, clear mind, impactful ministry, and for Sandy as she is home alone.
2. Last week there were two deaths in our Word of Life family. Gary spoke at the funeral for the sister of one of our cooks and then the following day the father of Daniel Sipp, one of our missionaries went to be with the Lord. Pray for God’s comfort.
3. This weekend Belem, the city closest to us, is hosting what has been determined to be largest religious festival in the world. Three million people take to the streets to worship an image of Mary and baby Jesus. People walk for days to this even in hopes of earning salvation and favors from God. Our students will be walking with groups of people along the highway seeking for opportunities to share the true message of Christ.

This is a video of the festival in 2018, this year is expected to be almost double in size.
